The European Actuarial Journal (EAJ) publishes research articles as well as papers engaging the mutual transfer between research and practical applications in actuarial science, i.e. the study, modeling and managing of insurance and related financial risks for which stochastic models and statistical methods are available.
Topics include classical actuarial mathematics such as life and non-life insurance, pension funds, reinsurance, and also more recent areas of interest such as risk management, asset liability management, solvency, catastrophe modeling, systematic changes in risk parameters, longevity, etc. EAJ is the successor of six national actuarial journals, so it is focused on theory and methods for applications in insurance and finance.
The EAJ Association is committed to establishing the European Actuarial Journal as an internationally recognized and refereed publication. One of the main goals in this context is the journal’s indexation with the renowned Thompson Reuters Index, which is considered indispensable for a journal aiming at attracting high quality research and especially contributions from young academics in actuarial science.
The Editorial Board of EAJ is therefore encouraging high quality scientific contributions to the journal, while also promoting the mutual transfer between research and practical applications in actuarial science. A more practical scientific orientation of the EAJ with an increase in articles in applied actuarial science is a clear goal for the journal‘s future.
